Koggala Lake Boat Safari

Koggala Lake

Koggala Lake is one of the largest reservoirs of southern Sri Lanka, and one of the most environmentally friendly places on the island. Its salty waters are crowded by fish, varanas and even crocodiles. The lake is dotted with a number of small islands of mangrove thickets. In the branches of mangrove and fruit trees live many species of birds, monkeys, bats ..

Boat Safari

The lake is very popular with the travellers in Koggala: after sunny and hot beaches, it attracts not only with its silent waters and cool shades, but also interesting leisure. Here you can take a boat and ride with a soothing breeze among the picturesque rocks and mangroves.

It's very interesting to visit some of the islands: The Temple Island with an ancient Buddhist temple, very popular with local and foreign visitors as well, The Island of Cinnamon, where you can see how real cinnamon grows, and even buy fresh chopsticks directly from the cinnamon plantation. And at sunset you can observe how many eagles circling over The Bird's Island and return to their nests. If you take a tour of the lake with our private boat you'll meet the opportunity to visit these unique islands.
